Two openings to report. Today, the awkwardly named 3Twenty Wine Lounge on La Brea (just south of 3rd) officially opens to the public. The owner, Edgar Poureshagh, is a former wine rep, and the chef, Michelle Salah, comes from the Spotted Pig in New York. Look for lots of Enomatic wine machines and a middlebrow wine list of recognized brands that connote a sense of luxury (i.e. the antithesis of Lou).

San Diego-based chain Sammy's Woodfired Pizza & Grill is opening its first Los Angeles outpost. The concept has been “reinvented.” The look “upscale.” The menu is “wholesome.” The menu is wood-fired pizzas (including gluten-free crusts), salads, pastas and craft beer. Look for it in Plaza El Segundo in July 2011.
