Valley Meat, a California-based meat company, is recalling one million pounds of beef after seven people reportedly suffered from E. coli contamination from the food product.

The company had distributed the contaminated beef, which was processed between October 2, 2009 to January 12, 2010, in California, Texas, Oregon, Arizona and internationally.

The company stated on its website that it was working to get the affected products off of store shelves. The company encouraged consumers to throw away potentially contaminated products or return them to points of purchase for a full refund.
