60-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Collision near Highway 78

OCEANSIDE, CA (October 25, 2021) A driver died while two others sustained injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Jefferson Street.

The deadly accident happened around 2:20 p.m., at Jefferson Street and Highway 78 on October 19.

According to reports, a southbound 2006 Lexus collided with a 2000 Toyota 4Runner and a light pole after reportedly running a red light.

Responding police located the 60-year-old Lexus driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, dead at the spot.

Meanwhile, officers said two occupants in the Toyota sustained injuries but did not require hospitalization.

At this point, it is unknown whether speed, drugs, or alcohol played a factor in the disaster. However, an investigation is currently underway.
