Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Metro A Line Train near Central Alameda Neighborhood

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 25, 2022) – Thursday morning, a pedestrian died in a train accident on 24th Street, police said.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m., at 1629 East 24th Street in the Central Alameda neighborhood.

In an aerial video from a news network, the Metro Blue line train was stopped in its tracks as firefighters responded. However, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear.

For reasons under investigation, a passing train struck a pedestrian. Emergency crews arrived and declared the unidentified individual dead at the scene.

Moreover, crews closed a large portion of the tracks to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, Los Angeles officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
