Traffic Collision on Stewart Avenue Left One Fatality

FREMONT, CA (January 24, 2021) – On Friday, a traffic crash on Christy Street claimed the life of one person, police said.

According to the authorities, the crash involved a gray Volkswagen Passat and a semi truck near Christy Street and Stewart Avenue.

Eventually, the first responders arrived at the scene and declared the male Volkswagen driver dead at the scene.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains unavailable, pending notification of next of kin.

Later, the investigators determined that the Volkswagen crashed into the semi parked on the north shoulder of Stewart Avenue.

Furthermore, the impact of the collision pushed the semi-trailer partially onto the street curb.

In the end, Fremont officials partially closed Stewart Avenue between Christy and Albrae to investigate.
