Victim Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near Highway 138
CAJON PASS, CA (November 22, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, a wrong-way crash on 15 Freeway left one person dead.
The collision happened around 1:13 a.m., along the southbound lanes of I-15 between Oak Hill and Highway 138 on November 19th.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound gray sedan collided head-on with a van in the southbound lanes.
Witnesses reported a fire started under the van’s hood. Good Samaritans then put out the fire before first responders arrived.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the driver of the involved van was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, their passengers were hospitalized with minor to critical injuries.
At this time, the identities of those involved in the crash have not been made public. California Highway Patrol is still working to determine further circumstances surrounding the 15 Freeway wrong-way crash.
