1 Pronounced Dead after Fatal Auto Collision near Old River Road

BUTTONWILLOW, CA (December 21, 2021) – Thursday, one unidentified person was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 5.

According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on the freeway near Old River Road.

Upon arrival, first responders located a sedan upside down in an orchard with a person impaled inside. Due to the extent of their condition, paramedics pronounced the occupant dead at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not released the identity of the deceased victim.

Investigators later determined that the driver carjacked a good Samaritan who pulled over and tried to assist them from the rollover crash.

At this time, Buttonwillow Officials are asking anyone to be on the lookout for a silver BMW with a possible armed suspect. Authorities are still currently investigating the Interstate 5 rollover crash.
