38-Year-Old Victim Fatally Struck in Rollover Accident near Sahara Avenue

LAS VEGAS, NV (February 15, 2022) Paul Ortega was killed early Wednesday morning, in a deadly rollover crash on Boulder Highway.

The collision happened on the southbound lanes of the road near Sahara Avenue, around 6:00 a.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Per reports, the driver of 2010 Ford Focus was traveling at a high rate of speed and veered off side of the road. Consequently, the vehicle slammed into a concrete median, pushing the car across all three lanes before rolling over onto a concrete wall.

Medics arrived and pronounced 38-year-old Paul Ortega dead on the scene. Meanwhile, medics brought the front seat passenger to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, the crash prompted the closure in the southbound lanes of Boulder Highway for several hours.

The driver’s death marks the 12th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.
