Rollover Crash in 405 Freeway Results in Fatality

LONG BEACH, CA (August 3, 2021) – Police are investigating a rollover accident on 405 Freeway that claimed the life of one person on Tuesday.

Officers responded to the incident around 8:30 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Lakewood Boulevard.

Furthermore, reports from the scene claimed that a vehicle struck a center divider, overturned and caught fire.

Afterwards, a person exited the vehicle and attempted to run across all lanes of the freeway. They were then struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead on scene.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for an unknown duration. However, the road has since reopened.
