Traffic Accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway Left One Fatality
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 1, 2022) – A pedestrian crash on State Route 94 claimed the life of one person early Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on the eastbound MLK Jr. Freeway west of the Jacob Dekema (15) Freeway.
Investigators stated that a gray Volkswagen sedan contacted the CHP after they struck a person on the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian in the far right lane and pronounced them dead at the scene.
At this time, the events leading up to the deadly collision remain unclear. Moreover, the involved driver remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
In the end, the CHP issued a SigAlert to shut down all lanes of the eastbound MLK Jr. Freeway while they investigated the pedestrian crash.
