I-880 Pedestrian Crash Resulted in One Fatality

BERKELEY, CA (November 22, 2021) – A deadly pedestrian crash on I-880 left one man dead Sunday night, authorities said.

Police received a report about a collision around 6:30 p.m. that happened in the eastbound lanes of I-880 between Ashby Avenue and Seventh Street.

Upon arrival, officers located one adult male lying on the roadway with fatal injuries.

Unfortunately, the responding Fire Department personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

Later on, investigators determined that a Toyota pickup truck traveling in the first lane struck the man.

Moreover, CHP stated that the driver immediately stopped and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigators.
