Lawrence Dean Alsenz Fatally Struck in Accident near Wyndham Lane

REDDING, CA (August 26, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, police responded to a pedestrian crash on Highway 273 that killed Lawrence Dean Alsenz.

The crash happened just before midnight on the southbound lanes of the highway. Dispatchers responded to the scene on August 23rd between Wyndham Lane and Buenaventura Boulevard.

According to police, Alsenz was pushing a shopping cart through the intersection when he was struck by the vehicle. Medics arrived and pronounced the severely injured victim dead at the scene. The Shasta County coroner left the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication. Additionally, the southbound lanes of Highway 273 were temporarily closed before they later reopened.
