Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 880 Left One Woman Dead

OAKLAND, CA (November 24, 2021) – A pedestrian accident on Interstate 880 claimed the life of an unidentified woman on Saturday.

The fatal crash took place on southbound I-880 near the Hegenberger Road off-ramp around 7:42 a.m. November 20.

California Highway Patrol received a report of a woman lying on southbound I-880 but the events that led to the incident remain unknown.

Responding officers tragically declared the victim dead at the scene.

Furthermore, authorities stated that the victim’s injuries were consistent with a car-versus-pedestrian traffic collision.

At this time, officials withheld the identity of the woman pending notification of kin.
