80-Year-Old Woman Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Buena Vista Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 17, 2022) – Monday morning, an 80-year-old woman was killed in a semi-truck crash on Taft Highway.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m., near Buena Vista Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Per reports, a pickup-truck and a semi-truck collided, pushing the pickup-truck into a nearby power pole.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced the 80-year-old female driver of the pickup dead at the scene. Although, officers have not yet disclosed her identity.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old passenger in the pickup-truck suffered moderate injuries.

At this time, no further details about the semi-truck crash on Taft Highway are available. However, investigators are actively working to determine the events leading up to the collision. Witnesses are encouraged to call Bakersfield police as soon as possible.
