Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Leaves Man Dead, Woman Hurt in Collision near Ashe Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 6, 2022) – A deadly hit-and-run crash on Ming Avenue killed one man and left a woman injured Tuesday evening.

According to reports, officers responded to the incident around 8:45 p.m., at the 6100 block of Ming Avenue, near Ashe Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an SUV driver was traveling at a high-rate of speed before crashing into a Jeep.

The man driving a Jeep died at the scene while a woman sustained moderate injuries. Bakersfield police said the driver of the involved SUV fled the scene after the crash on Ming Avenue.

At this time, Bakersfield Officials are still working to identify the hit-and-run suspect.
