Traffic Crash on Highway 12 Left 2 Casualties

SANTA ROSA, CA (October 4, 2021) A deadly head-on crash on Highway 12 in Santa Rosa left one person dead and one with major injuries.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. when a GMC Sierra pickup struck a Chevrolet flatbed truck near Irwin Lane, CHP said.

In addition, investigators pointed out that the GMC drifted into the opposite lane while heading east.

As a result, it collided with the Chevy flatbed going westbound on a two-lane highway.

Tragically, the GMC driver died at the scene and the paramedics transported the truck driver to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for major injuries.

At this time, the identity of the deceased driver remains unavailable.

Santa Rosa Officials closed down each direction between Merced Avenue and Irwin Lane on Highway 12 for investigation.
