Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 Left Several Injured

WOODLAND, CA (December 29, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 left one person dead and 5 injured Wednesday night.

Initially, the series of collisions started when a big rig stalled a few miles ahead near the Highway 113 off-ramp.

As a result, the traffic slowed down in the area with cars stopping behind the truck.

According to the investigators, a Ford Expedition towing a trailer rear-ended a stopped Volkswagen.

Tragically, the passenger of the Volkswagen died at the scene and the driver was left hospitalized in Vacaville.

Meanwhile, five people from the Expedition, including a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old received minor injuries.

The third driver who was struck by the Volkswagen after the first collision sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Woodland Officials continue to investigate the multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5.
