Deadly Collision near Katella Avenue in Orange

ORANGE, CA (September 7, 2021) – Friday morning, at least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the 55 Freeway.

Officers responded to reports of a vehicle pile-up around 5:45 a.m., near Katella Avenue.

Upon arrival, the responders discovered at least four vehicles in the wreckage. Tragically, the medical response units declared one person dead at the scene.

Eventually, Orange officials closed down the northbound lanes of 55 Freeway for cleanup and investigation.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the total number of casualties remains unclear.

Authorities continue to investigate the fatal multi-vehicle crash on 55 Freeway.
