Two-Vehicle Collision near 5th Avenue Resulted in One Death

CHULA VISTA, CA (August 3, 2023) – Thursday evening, a rider was killed in a motorcycle crash on Palomar Street.

The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m., on the 400 block of Palomar Street.

According to reports, a motorcycle was speeding in the area and crashed into a turning vehicle. The impact of the collision ejected the rider from his motorcycle and left him with serious injuries.

Police arrived at the site of the collision after receiving multiple reports of a crash. Responding emergency personnel transported the rider to UCSD Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the driver of the other vehicle to a hospital for serious injuries.

At this time, the identity of the deceased motorcyclist remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol as a factor in the collision.
