One Pronounced Dead after Solo-Vehicle Accident near 16th Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 5, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, one victim was pronounced dead after a fiery single-car crash on Maple Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:35 p.m., near 16th Street after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

According to reports, firefighters located a car engulfed in flames near a commercial building at 1629 Maple Avenue.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel pronounced one occupant dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles Police Department stated that the fire occurred after a vehicle struck a wooden electrical pole, following a collision with another vehicle in the area.

At this time, the identities of all parties involved remains unavailable.

During preliminary duties, the surrounding area remained closed. At this time, an active investigation into the crash is currently underway.
