Trapped Occupant Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision in Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, CA (July 30, 2021) – A fiery crash on Saturday took the life of one person along Highway 101, according to CHP.

The incident occurred just before 3:10 a.m., at the parking lot of Bed Bath & Beyond on Santa Rosa Avenue.

Responding personnel discovered an overturned Toyota Camry, engulfed in flames.

Later on, investigators determined that the Toyota drifted to the right shoulder and continued out of control in a ditch. Amidst the Chaos, it struck a chain link fence and two trees before coming to rest.

Due to the impact of the crash, the vehicle caught on fire and left one person trapped inside. Authorities pronounced the trapped occupant dead on scene.

At this time, it remains unclear whether the deceased victim drove the vehicle.
