Fiery Auto Collision on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road Left One Fatality

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 17, 2022) – Wednesday evening, a fiery crash on Backus Road claimed the life of one person.

The accident happened on Tehachapi Willow Springs and Backus Roads in Bakersfield around 8:40 p.m., according to initial reports.

Following preliminary duties, police revealed that one of the vehicles drove recklessly along the road. Consequently, it collided with another vehicle causing both vehicles to catch on fire.

Eventually, the Kern County Fire Department arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders declared at least one person dead at the scene despite their life-saving efforts.

Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
