One Person Dies after Solo-Car Accident on Highway 99

SACRAMENTO, CA (October 5, 2021) One man died Wednesday morning after a deadly accident on Highway 99 in south Sacramento.

The accident occurred at 1:15 a.m., September 29, along Highway 99 near Calvine Road.

The exact cause of the crash is unknown, but the car drove off the southbound side of the motorway and ended up flipped in a ditch, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said one man, in his 60s, died as a result of his injuries.

Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were shutdown for preliminary investigations and cleanup, but has since been reopened.

At this time, there were no additional injuries recorded. However, investigators said speed may have played a role in the fatal accident on Highway 99.
