Bicyclist Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Pacific Coast Highway

MALIBU, CA (January 20, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, one unidentified person was killed in a bicycle accident on Big Rock Drive.

The crash took place at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Big Rock Drive around 2:00 p.m.

According to officers, a bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle along the highway. Shortly after, emergency personnel responded to the scene and declared the rider dead on the scene.

Authorities are still currently withholding the identity of the victim for the time being, pending notification of kin.

Moreover, officials closed the surrounding area for a few hours as clearing took place.

At this time, authorities believe that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the crash. The main cause of the crash remains unknown. However, an active investigation is underway.
