Man Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Accident near Sky Harbor

TEMPE, AZ (April 21, 2023) – Early Friday morning, a man was hospitalized following a wrong-way crash on Loop 202. The incident happened just before 4:00 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Sky Harbor on March 24th. Per reports, a woman in her 30s was heading east on the westbound lanes of the freeway. Furthermore, she struck an oncoming vehicle near Scottsdale Road. As a result, the driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries from the accident. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Following preliminary duties, investigators say the woman was driving in the wrong way to harm herself. At this time, the total number of injuries from the crash remains unclear.
