76-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured after Hit-and-Run Accident near West Imperial Highway

BREA, CA (September 2, 2022) – Late Sunday night, a hit-and-run crash near the 57 Freeway injured a 76-year-old man.

The incident happened on August 28th, at about 11:30 p.m., on the northbound 57 Freeway from westbound Imperial Highway.

According to the initial investigation, the man had parked his car and was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk near the Imperial Highway on-ramp. There he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The impact of the collision left him with serious injuries.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the crash shortly after and transported the man to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds. He is expected to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the vehicle involved left the scene. Witnesses identified the vehicle as an older model gray Lexus sedan.

No other information on the suspect was provided. Police are conducting and investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect.
