Bicyclist Critically Hurt in Accident on Devonshire Avenue

HEMET, CA (January 24, 2022) – Friday night, a one person was critically injured in a bicycle collision on Sanderson Avenue.

The incident happened around 11:24 p.m., at the intersection of Sanderson Avenue and Devonshire Avenue.

According to reports, the driver of a blue Toyota Camry was heading south through the intersection at a green light. There, the vehicle struck the bicyclist.

Responding officers arrived and located the bicyclist unresponsive, but still breathing. As a result, medics rushed the man to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Hemet Police described the victim as a Hispanic man between the ages of 15 and 18, about 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. Additionally, the Camry driver stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

Authorities said it is still unknown whether speed played a role in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
