57-Year-Old Woman Hurt in Bicycle Accident near State Route 56

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 23, 2022) – One woman sustained injuries in a bicycle collision on Camino Del Sur, early Wednesday night.

The accident happened around 5:25 p.m., near State Route 56. Per reports, the female bicyclist was heading east, crossing 13000 Camino Del Sur in the Torrey Highlands neighborhood via the south crosswalk.

There, the 80-year-old driver of a Volvo XC90 SUV was exiting State Route 56 and struck a 57-year-old woman. First responders arrived and transported the bicyclist to a hospital after suffering a fractured pelvis and an L5 back fracture.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear.
