Bicycle Accident near Bruceville Road Left 12-Year-Old Seriously Injured
ELK GROVE, CA (July 11, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a juvenile is recovering in the hospital following a bicycle collision on Laguna Boulevard.
Officers responded to the incident around 1:35 p.m. at the intersection of Laguna Boulevard and Bruceville Road.
Upon arrival, police learned that a young teen was riding his bicycle east on the 5th lane shoulder of Laguna Boulevard without protective gear.
Investigators said the boy entered the intersection against a red light and was struck by a northbound car on the 2nd lane of Bruceville Road.
Eventually, the first responders arrived and transported the juvenile to a hospital with significant injuries. Meanwhile, the driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Reports claimed the young teen is expected to survive. The authorities have not released any further details regarding the Laguna Boulevard bicycle-auto collision to the public at this time.
