70-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision in Scottsdale near Shea Boulevard

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (April 4, 2023) – Late Wednesday night, a man died following a pedestrian collision on Scottsdale Road. Police responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m., near Shea Boulevard on March 29th. For reasons currently under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck a 70-year-old man from Minnesota in the area. Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the man to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but have since been reopened. Furthermore, police assessed the driver and he showed no signs of impairment. At this time, the identity of the victim was not yet released. The crash is still under investigation.
