Amtrak Train Collision near Railroad Avenue Left One Dead and Several Injured

FAIRFIELD, CA (April 28, 2023) – Wednesday morning, an Amtrak train crash on East Tabor Avenue left one dead and several others injured. The incident happened near the intersection of East Tabor Avenue and Railroad Avenue. According to the report, an Amtrak train traveling eastbound hit a truck near the intersection. The impact of the collision caused the truck to careen into another vehicle. The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and died as result of the crash. Additionally, responding emergency personnel transported several people to a hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries. Reports said the train had approximately 120 individuals on board, including both passengers and crew members. None of the train occupants sustained injuries. Following the collision, authorities closed several roadways in East Tabor Avenue between Clay Bank and Tolenas roads as crews investigate the scene.
