Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident near Golden State Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 23, 2021) – Monday night, an unidentified person was killed in a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 178.

Officers responded to dispatch calls about the incident around 9:00 p.m.

Per reports, a pedestrian was walking in and out of lanes on westbound Highway 178 before eventually walking into the path of a Toyota.

The pedestrian suffered from severe injuries and died at the scene, according to medical responders. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Toyota driver to Kern Medical for minor injuries.

At this time, the identity of the deceased person remains unclear.

The CHP is still working to identify the circumstances surrounding the deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 178.
