Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Grand Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (July 10, 2023) – Late Wednesday night, one victim was killed and Miriam Badillo was arrested after a DUI crash on 35th Avenue.
Police responded to the scene around 10:20 p.m., just under the Indian School Road overpass on July 5th.
Investigators say the 36-year-old female driver of a vehicle struck three male pedestrians. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one pedestrian dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other two to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that the female driver was impaired and taken into custody with DUI-related charges. Authorities later identified her as 36-year-old Miriam Badillo.
Officers charged her with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
