Victim Pronounced Dead after Head-On Accident on South Camino Diablo

BYRON, CA (June 17, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, one person was pronounced dead after a head-on collision on Byron Highway.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m., along Byron Highway just south of Camino Diablo. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, a Suburban carrying nine people crashed into another vehicle that reportedly lost control for reasons not known. Moreover, responding officers found four people injured and one person that died due to the impact of the crash.

Paramedics then took the four victims to a nearby hospital for medical care. In addition, officers believed that the occupants of the Suburban were farmers on their way to work.

Authorities did not release any additional information at this time. However, the cause of the accident and the factors involved remain under investigation.
