Pedestrian vs Vehicle Collision near North Las Vegas Boulevard Left One Dead

LAS VEGAS, NV (February 1, 2023) – Tuesday evening, an unidentified person lost their life in an auto-pedestrian accident at Nellis Boulevard. The incident occurred at around 6:47 p.m. near North Las Vegas Boulevard on January 24th. According to reports, a 2020 Nissan Altima going northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard near the intersection of Nellis, when a pedestrian started to cross in a marked crosswalk against the “don’t walk” signal. Consequently, the driver could not avoid the pedestrian and struck them on the roadway. Despite life-saving efforts, responding paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene due to the extent of their injuries. Meanwhile, the unidentified Nissan driver remained and cooperated with the authorities. At this time, authorities have not released the name of any of the involved parties, pending notification of next of kin. However, an active investigation into the fatal collision at Nellis Boulevard is still underway and LVMPD will release additional information once available.
