Driver In Custody after Pursuit with Officers End in Crash on State Route 94

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 22, 2021)Authorities arrested a man after a high-speed pursuit ended in crash on State Route 94 Saturday evening.

The chase started at 11:20 p.m. on west State Route 94 near south Interstate 5.

According to the CHP, the driver first drove west on state Route 94, then south on I-5 in the Mira Mesa area, while several CHP officers chased him.

The driver finally rear-ended a car on Aero Drive, causing both vehicles to spin out and crash.

The man raised his hands in the air and surrendered to CHP officers, who arrested him while his truck was on fire. Officers used fire extinguishers to put out the flames after the arrest.

Meanwhile, the driver of the rear-ender car did not sustained any injuries.

At this time, authorities have not yet released further information about how the chase started. However, an active investigation about the crash on State Route 94 remains ongoing.
