56-Year-Old Woman Sleeping on Sidewalk Fatally Hit near Figueroa Place

WILMINGTON, CA (April 21, 2022) – Early Monday morning, Olivia Espinoza was killed in a hit-and-run accident on E Street.

The crash occurred near the intersection of E Street and Figueroa Place around 1:45 a.m.

Reports indicate that a white four-door GMC SUV approached E Street and hit a woman asleep on the sidewalk. Upon impact, the SUV driver got out of the car and escaped on foot, eventually getting into another Nissan Altima heading east on E Street.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the severely injured pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities later identified her as Olivia Espinoza.

Meanwhile, investigators seek the public’s help to identify the runaway driver. At this time, the deadly strike remains under active investigation.
