The last time there was this much hoopla in America over a TV wedding was the nuptials of General Hospital's Luke and Laura in November 1981, following close on the heels of Prince Charles' marriage to Lady Diana Spencer that August. No need to guess which couple lasted longer. Hopefully, the heir to the British throne will have better luck than his folks. Though you may not be one of the hundreds of invited guests who'll be feasting on lamb and mint sauce at Buckingham Palace — yeah, our invitation got lost in the mail, too — you don't have to stay home to watch Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot and sulk over popcorn. Brits in L.A., a monthly mixer of expats, invites all Anglophiles to a Royal Wedding Slumber Party. Enjoy English food and make a toast to the happy couple with specialty drinks while watching the ceremony on big screens. Arrive in pajamas and a tiara, and you might wine a prize. At least in a bar, no cares if you get hammered or who you sleep with.
