A time line of recent Eddie Izzard exploits: April-August 2008 — completes 34 U.S. tour dates of new show, Stripped. July-September 2009 — runs 43 marathons (for charity!) in 51 days. October-December 2009 — releases Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story documentary, in theaters; for the first time in six years tours the U.K. with Stripped. If all that weren't exhausting enough, January 2010 sees the British comic/actor bringing Stripped Too: The Big Intimacy Tour to the U.S. for seven shows only. “The show has moved on and gotten these jazz improvisations around the themes,” says Izzard of his current run. “It's still Stripped, but it's a different version — like Prince reworking his numbers.” Expect plenty of rambling absurdisms and self-deprecating improvisation, as well as his uniquely quirky takes on history and religion. Just don't be disappointed when the proud transvestite keeps his pants on. “I go into boy mode and girl mode, and I've been in boy mode for a while. I explain to people that it's my life and I will not get locked into places. You have to have the freedom women have of being able to wear whatever they want, whenever they want.”
