22-Year-Old Driver Arrested after DUI Collision near 90th Street

GIG HARBOR, WA (November 16, 2021) – Early Sunday morning, an officer was struck and injured in a DUI accident on Bujacich Road.

Around 2:00 a.m., a patrol vehicle was struck by an impaired driver. Authorities responded to the scene in the 9000 block of Bujacich Road.

According to reports, the DUI driver crossed the center line of the road. The officer attempted to avoid the accident by veering onto the shoulder, but was unsuccessful. As a result, the two vehicles eventually collided.

Investigators say the police officer was injured in the crash. However, his wounds were said to be non life-threatening.

Authorities later arrested a 22-year-old male driver, who blew twice the legal limit. At this time, the identities of those involved have not yet been released.
