CHP Officer Injured after Crashing Patrol Vehicle in Santa Margarita

SANTA MARGARITA, CA (July 25, 2021) – On Saturday, a CHP officer left injured after crashing his patrol vehicle near Santa Margarita.

According to a statement, the officer attempted to respond to a hit-and-run incident that happened on 9 A.M. near Park Hill Road.

However, the patrol vehicle veered off the roadway as the officer looked to his mobile computer screen to verify the address.

Afterwards, the CHP clarified that the officer drove over an oak tree root which caused the vehicle to lose control, before crashing into a large oak tree on Santa Margarita.

Eventually, paramedics decided to airlift the injured officer to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.

At this time, the officers have been treated and back on full duty.
