1 Visalia Officer Sent to Hospital after Stolen Car Collision near Highway 198

VISALIA, CA (December 9, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, a Visalia police officer sustained injuries after a car chase crash on Mooney Boulevard.

The incident happened on November 22nd, at around 1:00 p.m. near westbound Highway 198.

According to reports, the officer attempted to stop a silver Audi on Mooney Boulevard for a suspected stolen vehicle. The driver did not stop and continued on Highway 198, colliding with the officer.

Responding paramedics arrived and took the officer who sustained injuries to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.

Following the crash, officials temporarily closed Highway 198 westbound for a period of time to perform cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, officials have not released the name of the injured officer and the suspect driver. However, an active investigation into the crash on Mooney Boulevard is underway.
