Police Officer Injured in Car Accident near Southeast Military Drive

SAN ANTONIO, CA (December 3, 2021) – Early Wednesday morning, an officer was hospitalized after a collision on Roosevelt Avenue.

The accident happened around 2:40 a.m., along Roosevelt Avenue near Southeast Military Drive. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, officers received reports of two vehicles that collided in the area after one ran a red light. One of the drivers was a San Antonio Police Department street crimes officer. However, the events leading up remain unclear.

Paramedics arrived and transported the police officer to a local hospital with minor injuries. Meanwhile, police arrested the other driver, an unidentified woman, for DWI.

At this time, authorities did not know who ran the red light, and continue to investigate the collision.
