So far this fall we've seen new restaurants emerge and some of our favorites suddenly shutter (RIP the Parish). Westwood Brewing Company, which closed this summer, will be replaced by the Boiling Crab, but we won't know any information about its opening until 2014, according to an employee at its Koreatown location. In closing and reopening news, BierBeisl's last day in Beverly Hills is Nov. 9. A new Westside location will open some time next year.

The Warwick on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood is now open. It's part sexy lounge, part hipster art gallery. While there's a focus on the specialty cocktails, this is still the kind of place where you could get a Red Bull vodka. The DJ plays loud, popular music for the young and beautiful crowd, even though there's no real dance floor to speak of. Also new to Hollywood is Blue C Sushi, adjacent to ArcLight Cinemas. This marks the Seattle-based chain's first California location. Think conveyer-belt sushi and Americanized dishes such as the “Caesar salad roll” and “loaded baked potato.”

Now open in Glendale, Din Tai Fung, said to be modeled after the original Din Tai Fung in Xinyi, China, is 6,800 square feet with patterned wood screens and floor-to-ceiling glass walls and seating for 160 diners. The new restaurant will have a bar program and something called a truffle dumpling. Read on for a full list of openings and closings.
