25-Year-Old Man Dies after Fatal Head-on Collision on South Maple Street

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 26, 2021) – Tuesday afternoon, Obed Orellena was killed in a fatal head-on accident on South Maple Avenue.

A three-vehicle crash was reported in the 200 block of South Maple Street at about 12:20 p.m., on April 20.

At this time the events leading up to the accident remain unclear; however, two vehicles reportedly collided head-on.

As a result of the impact, one man was killed on the scene. The authorities later identified the victim as 25-year-old Obed Orellena, of San Francisco.

Meanwhile, first responders transported two other people with severe injuries to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At this time, authorities did not identify the two injured parties. However, an active investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the crash.

South San Francisco police asked anyone with information to call Motor Officer Jesse Ledesma at (650) 877-8900.

Furthermore, the family and friends of Orellena made a GoFundMe page to help for his burial expenses.
