The 14th Three Stooges Big Screen Event may be the last time you numbskulls see Moe, Larry and Curly (fine, Shemp can come, too) in the theater before 20th Century Fox's Farrelly brothers–directed flick is released next spring. The wiseguys over at the Alex Film Society have handpicked these five shorts — this year themed “The Stooges in History: Sort Of!” — which have the slaphappy, eye-poking trio stepping back in time for their shenanigans: Goofs and Saddles (1938); Mummies and Dummies (1948); Higher Than a Kite (1943); Wee Wee Monsieur (1938); and Back to the Woods (1937). The last one is set in Colonial America, where the boys are sent to protect from the Indians a couple dames. Also on the program are screenings of after-school shows from the 1950s hosted by Officer Joe Boulton, Skipper Chuck Zink, Chuck McCann, Sandy Becker, Sally Starr and Cowboy Bob Glaze, plus a compilation of wacky commercials and TV appearances with the Stooges. Don't you wish you could smack around a couple of your relatives on Thanksgiving? Soytainly. Alex Theater, 216 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale; Sat., Nov. 26, 2 & 7 p.m.; $15. (818) 243-2539.

Sat., Nov. 26, 2 & 8 p.m., 2011
