2020 was a brutal year for musicians. That is, most of them. With social distancing and stay-at-home mandates across the nation, music artists could not play the gigs that previously were their bread and butter. While many felt there was nothing they could do about it, artist, producer, and investor Zachary Kern-Schnall, more commonly known by his moniker, DJ Bander was the exception. In fact, today, his business, Bander Productions, has grown into a full-service media production and marketing company.

DJ Bander had already had a head start on things in 2019. This is the year he made it to the Top 100 on BeatPort, not once, but twice. His press, also, was on the uptick in this year. Bander secured placements on both Yahoo! Finance and Business Insider. To date, he has worked with other major artists like Jon B, Taryn Manning, and has an upcoming record with Famous Dex. This entrepreneurial DJ is also known for his business show “The Finance Bunch,” on Dash Radio.

Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, DJ Bander was a traditionally-trained jazz pianist and participated in bands as a keyboardist and drummer before ultimately pursuing music production in high school. He ended up working as an assistant to a music director named Emanuele Arnone on feature films like The Day After Tomorrow.

Growth in 2020 was challenging for many– with a number of companies and individuals struggling to just stay afloat, particularly those in the entertainment industry. DJ Bander made sure he could always fall back on something else in case times got tough. With an equally proficient background in finance, his multi dimensional earning skill sets led him to the world of commercial real estate, the stock market and crypto currencies as an investor. Today, he is in a unique position to help artists and independent entrepreneurs improve their financial situations by offering private advisory and consulting services.

With the above in mind, this year, DJ Bander formed a partnership with Nadya Rousseau, founder of global marketing and PR agency Alter New Media. Together, the two have developed comprehensive packages targeting the independent artist and music-centric brands. Packages range from artist development, audio production, and social media growth strategies. DJ Bander works with artists, locally, in the Greater Los Angeles area but his support also spans across the Atlantic to Paris, France with up and comer Audie B.

Due to DJ Bander’s strong business acumen, musical talent, and pulse on the industry, he’s become “recession-proof.” Now, he has his sights set on establishing a boutique investment

firm to help out struggling artists in the music industry, while continuing to expand Bander Productions into the go-to platform for artists to grow and promote their music.
