RivaBella, a collaboration between Gino Angelini and Innovative Dining Group, opens its doors today for dinner in West Hollywood in the former Hamburger Hamlet location on Sunset Boulevard. Angelini is the chef behind the celebrated and fairly intimate Italian restaurant Angelini Osteria, and Innovative Dining Group is behind flashy, often nightlife-driven restaurants like Sushi Roku and Soleto.

It will be interesting to see how these two, seemingly disparate approaches to hospitality merge. As the press release says: “At RivaBella, IDG infuses Angelini's signature, ingredient-based, traditional Italian fare with its dynamic approach to dining and vibrant aesthetic.” Some of the dishes Angelini is known for at Angelini Osteria will be on the menu at RivaBella, such as the Lasagne Nonna Elvira (pictured above).

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant aims for a farmhouse feel and has a huge outdoor dining area as well. It's open for lunch weekdays (beginning tomorrow) and dinner daily.

RivaBella: 9201 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood; (310) 278-2060.
