After a week of preview nights open only to MasterCard holders, Josef Centeno's newest restaurant is open to the public as of this evening. Centeno is billing Orsa & Winston as an Italian/Japanese omakase restaurant.

The 33-seat restaurant is a return to fine dining for Centeno, who in recent years has focused on more casual dining with Baco Mercat and Bar Ama. But Centeno has a fine dining history, including time in the kitchen at New York's Daniel.  

Orsa & Winston is named for Centeno's two dogs, and sits right next door to Bar Ama. When we spoke to him a few months back Centeno said he wasn't planning on opening a third restaurant so soon after the December 2012 launch of Bar Ama, but when the space became available and was offered to him, he felt he couldn't pass up the opportunity.

The restaurant will offer tasting menus only: 5 courses for $60, 9 courses for $95, and a “super omakase” that must be reserved in advance and is served at the chef's counter. The cost for that is $195 per person and has no set number of courses — but it's safe to assume that a lot of food is involved. There's also a $50-per-person 4-course family style option. You can see a sample menu on the restaurant's website, as well as what looks to be the full wine list, which is pretty fun and super affordable.

As of this writing, there are still reservations available for this evening.
