East Borough, a new restaurant collaboration between Paul Hibler, Jason Neroni and John Cao and chef Chloe Tran, opens today for lunch in Culver City. Hibler and Neroni are best known for their collaboration at Superba Snack Bar (Hibler is also the owner of Pitfire Pizza), and Cao and Tran already operate an outpost of East Borough in Costa Mesa. For now, the restaurant will serve lunch only, with dinner service beginning sometime soon.

While the full menu for the Culver City location isn't available online, it's likely to be very similar to the Costa Mesa menu, which explores Vietnamese flavors and the French-influenced side of Vietnamese cuisine. There's an extensive list of banh mi, as well as noodles, spring rolls, salads and rice.

From looking at the press materials for the new spot, it seems as though the Culver City location will have some more ambitious offerings as well. Dishes such as blue shrimp with pomelo and crab paste butter served with ginger rice; and pork shank with crab paste, lettuce cups, pickles and condiments. The restaurant will also serve beer, wine and cocktails.

For now, East Borough will serve lunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. When dinner starts, it will be from 5:30-10 p.m. Sun.-Wed. and 5:30-11 p.m. Thurs.-Sat. When asked about the time frame for dinner, a representative for the restaurant said evening service should begin within the next week or so.
